Art Show & Book Signing: Colors and Words by Patricia Alarcón Missler

April 16, 2014

Artist Reception/Exhibit and Book Signing for “Pink Elephants and Chocolate Éclairs, Memoir of a Border Town Chica (girl).  This event, Colors & Words, was held on April 12th, 2014 at Lavender Moon Gallery in Kainaliu, Hawaii and was well received by the community of art collectors and book readers alike, including locals and visitors.  The author gave a reading from her book and took questions from the audience.

Patricia talked about what inspires her as she paints and writes.  Colors were a big topic during her descriptions of her painting techniques.  When she fielded questions regarding her book, the author expressed the importance of finding your own voice as a writer and staying true to that inner guidance.

Her talk offered a taste of what future blog postings and newsletter topics might cover such as,  Colors and Words.

She has likened her writing to being “just a different type of ‘canvas’  and encourages writers to pick up a paint brush and explore the world of color.
