Multi-shaded feathers of taupe, grey, silver, blue, black…

May 17, 2014

A Kalij pheasant, strolling leisurely in my yard, training my eyes to spot many shades of silver, grey, taupe, blue, black, bluish-black, brown and white.  I adjust the camera lens as close as I can.  It was misting lightly and I could see the delicate drops of rain suspended on his feathers.  These colors will reappear in one of my new abstract paintings in the near future and I feel a poem rising to the surface.  Another moment where life inspires art.
