Gypsy Tree

“My husband and I spent 10 years working to save an old-growth forest in Hawaii from destruction at the hands of developers. During that time, I wrote poems about our forests and created a series of tree-related paintings. It was all I could think about… saving trees. We did win our lawsuit against the County of Hawaii, and saved all those old trees. This painting reflects that time-period of my life.”
