Slow by Slow

May 11, 2016

There is a great saying in Hawaii, “Slow by slow”.  I love it.  It takes the pressure off of me to get the job done and leave it to the universe to help me along.  I do the best I can to achieve my end goal, but I know that it doesn’t have to happen all at once.  It can come along, “slow by slow”, or all in good time.

The key is to do the work and make forward progress but not obsess or become fanatic about getting the job done at all costs.

Case in point, I’ve been in the process of getting shirts done with some of my “Free Spirit” artwork.  And it has taken many months of checking out different shirt samples, fabric samples and doing “proto-type” shirts.  Many months later I have the first installment of shirts and I am so very excited and yes, a bit proud of my accomplishment.

Getting things done on a larger scale can be a bit of a challenge in Hawaii.  Things you take for granted on the mainland can add extra cost to every project.  Shipping being the biggest challenge.

At long last I’ve begun reproducing some of my work on to clothing and I know that this is just the beginning.  I know that avenues for exposing my work to the greater public are out there and only with a little bit of time, they will present themselves to me.

In the mean time I go “slow by slow”, creating more art, expanding avenues for its exposure and knowing all the while that if I keep on creating, my vision will materialize!

My shirts will become available, slow by slow, on my website:  www.patriciamissler.com

For now, if you happen to be in Hawaii, stop by my gallery, Lavender Moon Gallery, to pick up a piece of “Free Spirit”.
